CATEGORY 1 – A basic columnar report that has 6 or less fields within one database file, including grand totals, but no grouping. 

Examples

1. Employee Personnel Report - with Data from the Demographics, HR Status, Current Pay, Current Job Panels
2. Deduction Code Report - Current, MTD, QTD, YTD amounts with only employee id no., but with no name.
3. Mailing Labels

CATEGORY 2 – A basic columnar report that has 6 – 10 fields within one database file or less than 6 fields within two database files, including grand totals, but no grouping.

Examples

1. Employee Personnel Report - like #1 in category 1, plus benefit codes and contribution amounts.
2. Deduction Code Report - same as #2 in category 1, plus employee name or SSN.
3. Attendance Liability Report - with no grouping.

CATEGORY 3 – A grouped columnar report with less than 8 fields from one or two database files and no more than 2 groupings, such as Division and Department. Subtotals, Grand Totals, and a maximum of 5 Calculations are included.

Examples

1. Attendance Liabiltiy Report - grouped by Department
2. Benefits Report - grouped by Location and Department
3. New Hire or Term Report - grouped by Division and Department

CATEGORY 4 – A grouped columnar report that requires more than 2 groupings, more than 5 Calculations, such as EEO Reports, Worker’s Compensation Reports, 401(k) Reports, Detailed Payroll Reports, and GL Reports.
